General Information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I am a graphic design student at MCC pursuing my associates degree. I live with my dad and my younger brother with our dog, Cisco. I also have a pet corn snake who I’ve loved for the past 4 years or so. I work at a small family-owned pottery studio on Algonquin Rd called Fox Valley Pottery. I also love anime, manga, and really anything artistic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aspiring Graphic Designer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I love art and always have. I knew going into college I wanted to pursue something artistic but I didn’t know what until I took a few graphic design classes at my high school. I fell in love with the versatility and the non-permanence of it. I have a fear of messing something up if I take a risk, but with graphic design everything can be undone or changed. There are also so many applications for it that I knew if I didn’t have much direction aside from art there would be a lot of options open for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Identity and Queerness<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I am queer and nonbinary. I was fighting with the feeling of something being different from a very young age. When I hit puberty I felt alien in my own skin and didn’t know what was wrong. Through the internet I discovered that some people were transgender and nonbinary and I felt that nonbinary clicked for me. Some sort of foggy in between of male and female. I also am still not quite sure of my sexuality but I am in no rush to figure it out. I like what I like and I have come to accept that and define it in a way that makes me most comfortable.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I fell in love with anime in middle school and was bullied pretty bad for liking it. The boom in its popularity during the pandemic normalized it a lot and I continue to love it to this day. I have probably seen over 100 different series over the years and continue to love the new series that come out as well as still exploring some of the older series. That love gradually led me to reading manga, which is the source material for a lot of anime.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
